Ticket sales for the upcoming Manchester United Tour 2012, delivered to the world by DHL, in South Africa opened at 09:00 on (25 June 2012), and immediately Computicket’s website was inundated, as excited fans drove up website traffic volumes on its online ticketing purchasing site.
Within the first hour 11 000 tickets were sold for the Ajax Cape Town vs Manchester United football match to be held on 21 July 2012 at Cape Town stadium.
At the end of the first day Computicket confirmed that 15 000 tickets were sold for the Amazulu FC and Manchester United clash in Durban on the 18th of July at the Moses Mabhida stadium.
The Cape Town football event sold 25 000 tickets when sales closed by the first day, as fans made sure, they didn’t miss the opportunity to see their favourite football heroes play in the MTN Football Invitational event, which is the South African leg of Manchester United’s Tour 2012 sponsored by DHL.
Thrilled fans posted pictures with their tickets in hand, on social media sites like Facebook and twitter, while some complained, that they were still waiting online on Computicket’s Online Queuing System.
Primedia Sport’s CEO Lyndon Barends, is encouraging football fans to use the various Computicket outlets around the country to purchase their tickets as more are released today.
