Is it the coach or is it the players? Different views may be scripted as to the reason AmaZulu are showing character and bagging points match after match.
AmaZulu have collected 7 points out of a possible 12 in their last 5 showings. They lost to Orlando Pirates and drew with Bloemfontein Celtics. As for the remainder of matches against Golden Arrows and Black Leopards they have collected full 3 points from each team.
It is a very impressive run from a team that is expected to be in the middle of the table. They are proving critics wrong as they are positioned 7th currently with a match in hand compared to most teams in the league. The fans are ecstatic and are being quoted as saying the “sleeping giant” (AmaZulu) has awakened.

The KZN region is buzzing with life as it is all smiles from supporters wearing the green and white colours. Roger Palmgren has countlessly mentioned the goal of a top 8 finish for Usuthu but the players seem to have other ideas as they make the Swede proud by exceeding that goal so far.
Usuthu have a few remaining games against Jomo Cosmos, Platinum Stars, Maritzburg United, Santos and Kaizer Chiefs. These are the games that will decide the fate of the boys in green and white, not forgetting their absolutely great run in the Nedbank Cup where they will meet Supersport United for a battle for the final spot in the competition.
It is quite a run by Usuthu and with their current form they surely look like the giant they are turning to be once again. The pastures are green and so are the fans and players of mighty Usuthu.
