It has not been a kind start to the second round of the season for AmaZulu. Despite some inspiring play by the Usuthu in their opening and second match against Mamelodi Sundowns and Free State Stars respectively, late goals by both oppositions deprive the KZN-based clubs of valuable points.
As it stands, Usuthu are five points out of the top-eight bracket. However, it should be noted that after 17 games, while 14 goals have been scored almost an equal number (13) of goals have been conceded. The balance between the goalscoring rate and the goal-conceding rate looks worrisome.
A more clinical performance will be required of the strikers for the team to break into the top eight and remain within that bracket, while things will need to be tightened a bit more at the back.
The KZN-based club will travel to Pretoria for the third encounter of the second round of the season against SuperSport United at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday.
Have your say! Tell Usuthu, on their official website (www.AmaZulufc.net), what it is that you think should be done for the club to get back to its winning ways.
