There were plenty of goals this past Monday at Moses Mabhida Outer Fields when the KZN Reserve League for the 2011/12 season kicked off. Clive Barker takes us through the first matches.
The main aim is to behind the league is to give developing players a chance to show case their talents.
“I’m very happy with the start of matches this week because it offers the chance to see how players that have been seating on the bench can play. It is not only that but also because we’re also able to scout for fresh players that can play at the big teams,” said the league coordinator Clive Barker.
Former AmaZulu coach Neil Tovey’s Thanda Royal Zulu and Vodacom League side Durban Warriors did not play this week.
Despite seeing his side play a 2-2 draw with Westville Academy Durban City’s Glen Adams was content with the way his side began the campaign.
“I would like to thank you guys for the effort put into this league,” said Adams.
