'Usuthu', 'Ezenkosi' share the spoils

Despite undertaking good preparation,  fortune continued to shy away from the pride of KZN football,' Usuthu'as the club played to a goalless draw against Jomo Cosmos at the Sinaba Stadium on Tuesday night.

AmaZulu's record now reads two draws and two defeats, whilst Jomo Sono's promoted team secured their first point of the season after three successive defeats.

An ugly tackle by Themba Shabalala on Ayanda Dlamini earned the Cosmos player a yellow card and might easily have resulted in him receiving his marching orders.

The pole-axed Dlamini, ironically, had been involved in an incident in the fifth minute which resulted in injured Cosmos goalkeeper Buti Khoza being replaced by Abisai Shimimgay.

Tapuwa Kapini, who was in AmaZulu's goal, comfortably handled the rare Cosmos scoring efforts that were on target.

With Tsweu Mokoro providing some neat touches, AmaZulu held an edge in the opening half, but faded after the interval as both teams shared the spoils.

Usuthu's two points have moved them to 13th place in the 16-team log, with Cosmos now in 14th position.

AmaZulu's next match is against Moroka Swallows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium (17/09/2011 20:15)
