No joy at King Zwelithini

Aleni Lebyane came off the bench to give Free State Stars a 1-0 win over AmaZulu during stoppage time in an ABSA Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Lebyane, who was left on the bench after struggling to score against SuperSport United last weekend, replaced Ouri Sedate with 13 minutes remaining and gave Stars the victory when he headed Noah Chivuta's freekick into the back of the net with seconds remaining on the clock.

The two sides had a share of chances in the first 15 minutes of the match with Stars' Zakari Morou twice coming close to scoring while Thamsanqa Sangweni and Tshweu Mokoro also came close for the home side.

Mokoro continued to threaten as the match progressed together with Sibusiso Hadebe who had his first attempt saved by Kennedy Mweene before missing the target a few minutes later.

Before the break Thabo Matlaba almost put Stars ahead but his shot was deflected out to safety.

Tapiwu Kapini denied Matlaba in the 64th minute with a great save to keep the scoreline goalless.

AmaZulu finished the match with ten men after Celani Vilani received his marching orders for a second bookable offence in the 85th minute.

Just as it looked like the encounter would end in a draw substitute Lebyane rose highest to score from Chivuta's freekick to give Stars a win away from home.

Teams:

AmaZulu: Tapuwa Kapini, Kasongo Bukasa, Sibusiso Hadebe (Gavin Hammers 79'), Moses Chavula, Celani Vilane, Thamsanqa Sangweni, Ntuthuko Dlamini (Goodman Dlamini 57'), Tshweu Mokoro (Ramson Zhuwawo 58'), Dumisani Zwane, Mxolisi Mayonga, Ayanda Dlamini

Free State Stars: Kennedy Mweene, Rudiger Gilbert, Phumlani Mhamha, Katlego Mashego, Paulus Masehe, Thabo Matlaba, Dove Wome, Zakari Morou, Noah Chivuta, Ouri Sedate (Aleni Lebyane 77'), Edward Mnqele (Madoda Motha 58')

Goals: Aleni Lebyani 90' (Free State Stars)

We have ourself to blame on this matter. We are busy chopping and changing the team. Why we did not use the same team that played against Sundowns on sunday? Was there anything wrong with the line up or were there some injuries? If all the above questions have no answer I would say we did a mistake than. Let the boys gell first and than we replace here and there. I was definately disappointed with that and its not that we do not have a striker in the team Shipau is there and Ayanda. If the coach has played both strikers we would have put pressure on the visitors. Why was he playing Vilane and Kasonga? The whole team was changed.

Merci beaucoup :)
