We Need to Stay Consistent: Cobra

AmaZulu 2009/10 player of the season Ayanda Dlamini says the 4-0 emphatic win over Swallows will test their consistency against Bloemfontein Celtics on the weekend at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

‘Cobra’ has never failed to find the back of the net against Moroka Swallows, a club that turned him away for trials early in his career but he says the importance of his two goals has nothing to do with any grudges to Swallows.

“It was really important for me to score and even more so for the team, because we need to start believing in ourselves a lot more.

Our biggest problem is that we’re not consistent enough. We had expected a tough game against Swallows and knowing that they too needed the full points,” Dlamini said.

His 90 minute sinker helped the KZN club to 27 goals - making them three goals above Sundowns who have goals 23 in the league. However it didn’t do anything to their 26 goals they have suffered in the 16 matches they have played.

“We’re hoping that from now one we start picking up points and at home when we play Celtics. We’re still not happy with where we are in the log,” added the striker.

The AmaZulu coach is encouraged by what his side showed on Sunday afternoon.

“I believe we’re created a lot of chances against Swallows but unfortunately we did not use them to good effect but at least winning with 4 goals is good but it doesn’t make much of a difference in our goal difference but, my players I believe they worked very hard and I thank everyone and management for the undying support they have been giving these boys,” said Manqoba Mngqithi.

Definately the key now is to stay consistent. When I saw Pere and Nzimela I knew that it's a win. We need a combination of Senior and Junior players in order to have good balance at the back. Above all well done team, you made us proud!

Well done indeed to everyone who is wearing the Amazulu jersey. The management and supporters, thank you for the support especially one on my friend who won the Vodacom Pattion Supporters competition on Sunday. We now need to focus on getting the points in all our outings as well as not conceding goals. We can do it, therefore let us just do it. I am looking forward to the Celtic game and Celtic funs are known to be the best supporters in the world. Let us all go to the match and chear the boys throughout the 90 minutes. We can learn from Celtic how to support the team at the stadium and borrow some of their hit songs at the same time teaching them how to play football. Hebe Usuthu.
