AmaZulu Football Club is flabbergasted by claims made by an article published on the football section of the Supersport.com website (Monday, 22 November 2010). The article makes reckless claims which insuate that some of our key players are to be shown the door when the transfer window opens.
The sensationalised story alleges that defenders Sphiwe Mkhonza and captain Pere Ariweriyai as well as midfielders Thami Sangweni, Nhlanhla Zwane and Tsweu Mokoro are on this list which the coach has apparently handed over to management.
AmaZulu FC management confirms that no player has been put on any transfer list as the technical staff has not given us any indications towards this. There is no such list. It is rather unfortunate also that an article of this kind was deliberately published while we are in the middle of preparing for an important league fixture.
We would just like to assure our supporters that we will not be releasing any players at this moment. As a club we are doing all within our might in focusing on our league campaign and nothing else.

Allegations of this nature will always be made when clubs are experiencing their most vulnerable time especially when they are not getting the desired results. But this is nothing new for us. Whenever such unsubstatiated claims surface, one finds that some people tend jump at the opportunity to cash in on them without going through the necessary verification steps, as per standard journalistic practice.
The coach is working with the players mentioned above and there is no move to ‘wield the axe during the transfer period’ as suggested by the story.
